UPS named as an Official Sponsor of The PGA European Tour
Global transportation and logistics leader UPS today announced it has been named as the Official Logistics and Express Sponsor of The PGA European Tour, one of the world’s most prestigious professional golf tours.

Wärtsilä chooses CEVA Logistics to run its global spare parts

Today Wärtsilä, a market leader in diesel and natural gas engines, biopower solutions and complete propulsion systems and CEVA Logistics, one of the leading supply chain companies in the world, signed a cooperation agreement for the 24/7 global spare parts transportation management and “control tower” activities for Wärtsilä Services. The contract value is approximately EUR 32 million per annum over the next three years. The agreement follows Wärtsilä´s earlier announcement of its intention to centralize spare parts logistics and to build a Central Distribution Center facility in the Netherlands. Kalmar invests in its South American sales and service network
Kalmar Industries, part of Cargotec Corporation, has made an agreement to acquire Equipos y Servicios para Terminales y Puertos SRL (ESTP) – its dealer representative in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. The move will not only strengthen Kalmar’s distribution network but reinforce its strong service ethos of being closer to customers enabling it to offer a superior level of support.

U.S. Senators call for antitrust investigation into proposed UPS-DHL deal
WASHINGTON—A tentative agreement between DHL and UPS is hitting some bumps in the road due to possible antitrust issues raised by two United States senators.
Under the terms of the deal announced in May, DHL Express would work with UPS on a 10-year, $10 billion contract for airlift capacity in an effort to reduce its ground infrastructure operations costs. UPS would provide all airlift services for DHL Express U.S. Domestic and international shipments from airport to airport within North America, giving DHL a single airline partner in the U.S. Date:

Dynafleet benefits and no-cost entry to London Lez convinces Draka to replace fleet with Volvo FE's
International cable manufacturer Draka UK Limited is in the process of renewing its in-house transport fleet with Volvo FE rigids.
According to Transport Manager Keith May, the ability of Volvo’s transport information system, Dynafleet, to produce environmental reports was a key factor in the decision to stay with Volvo. ”We’re using the Dynafleet reports to keep track of vehicle emissions as well as monitor fuel efficiency and track drivers’ hours relative to Working Time Directive requirements,” says Keith. ”We make daily deliveries to cable wholesalers in Central London and as all the new Volvo’s are Euro 5 compliant, there is no cost to enter the LEZ.” Date:
